I was going to use a recent photo of my beloved bog as the header image for this post, but then I thought I might be running the risk of repetition. How many times can I visit the same damn bog and still be astonished by its beauty? If you're local to Fort Frances and you've never been, I strongly encourage it. Head towards Devlin; turn left at the Baptist church.
I'm excited to announce some upcoming publications. I have poems forthcoming in The New Quarterly, EVENT Magazine, and The Fiddlehead.
I'm also thrilled to announce that one of my poems has been chosen for publication in this years Anthology of Best Canadian Poetry, published by Tightrope Books. I spent many an hour in the poetry section of the Vancouver Public Library scouring those very anthologies. They were a source of great inspiration. The poem is called, "This Job Ends in Six Months." Huge thanks to ARC Poetry Magazine for publishing it originally.
Personally, I'm enjoying my summer vacation with my daughter. Stressing, as ever, about what I'll do with the rest of my life, but very glad that whatever comes, I'm blessed to be her mother.
